EHIF
Job Description: Turnover Engineer (Onshore Gas Projects)
Are you a transition specialist who excels at closing the gap between “Built” and “Operational”? EHIF, on behalf of a global engineering powerhouse, is seeking a Site Turnover Engineer to lead the critical handover phase for major Onshore Gas projects in Abu Dhabi.
In the complex world of Oil & Gas EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), the final 10% of a project is often the most challenging. As a Turnover Engineer, you are the guardian of the System Completion process. You will be responsible for meticulously organizing thousands of technical documents, certificates, and test results into “Turnover Packages” (TOPs). Your mission is to ensure that every pipe, valve, and circuit is verified, safe, and ready for the commissioning team to breathe life into the plant.
Your Technical & Handover Mission
Systems Completion Management
-
Mechanical Completion (MC) Oversight: Define and manage the boundaries for systems and sub-systems to ensure a structured handover from the construction team.
-
Turnover Package (TOP) Compilation: Lead the assembly and review of handover dossiers, ensuring all “as-built” drawings, ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), and vendor data are complete and accurate.
-
Punch List Coordination: Categorize and track “Punch A” (pre-commissioning) and “Punch B” (post-commissioning) items, ensuring all critical defects are resolved before handover.
Quality & Compliance
-
Technical Auditing: Verify that all site activities comply with project specifications and international oil and gas standards.
-
Database Management: Utilize systems completion software (such as CCMS or Zenator) to track the real-time status of inspections and certifications.
-
Certification Liaison: Coordinate with third-party inspectors and client representatives to secure final signatures on handover certificates (RFIs/RFMs).
Strategic Coordination
-
Interdisciplinary Syncing: Bridge the communication gap between the Construction, Quality, and Commissioning departments to ensure a “Right-First-Time” documentation culture.
-
Reporting: Provide detailed progress reports to project management, highlighting potential bottlenecks in the handover schedule.
What You Bring to the Team
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation preferred).
-
Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects, specifically focused on systems completion or turnover.
-
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of P&IDs, Isometrics, and electrical/instrumentation loop folders.
-
Coordination Mastery: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage massive amounts of technical data under tight deadlines.
-
Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with onshore gas processing facilities and the regional standards of the UAE energy sector.
