Time Training Center
Job Description: Subsea Installation & Marine Operations Instructor
Are you a veteran of the offshore frontier with a wealth of “deck-side” knowledge to share? Time Training Center (TTC), a premier ACTVET-accredited institution in Abu Dhabi with over 30 years of excellence, is seeking a high-caliber Subsea Installation & Marine Operations Instructor.
This is not a traditional academic role. We are looking for an offshore specialist who has spent decades on the front lines of EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) projects. You will bridge the gap between complex engineering theory and the gritty reality of deepwater execution. From navigating the complexities of SURF (Subsea Umbilicals, Risers, and Flowlines) to managing SIMOPS on a multi-vessel spread, your mission is to mentor the next generation of offshore professionals using real-world case studies and the lessons only a veteran can provide.
Key Responsibilities
-
Technical Instruction: Deliver expert-led training on subsea installation methodologies for templates, manifolds, flowlines, and umbilicals.
-
Vessel Operations: Teach the operational workflows and interface management for HLV, PLSV, and DCV vessels.
-
Deepwater Strategy: Provide practical insights into deepwater campaigns (100m–1000m+) and complex SURF project execution.
-
Safety & Risk: Conduct training on offshore lift planning, rigging principles, and installation risk assessments tailored to maritime realities.
-
Scenario-Based Learning: Develop and lead practical exercises using real-world EPCI project scenarios and “lessons learned” from your personal field experience.
-
Curriculum Development: Support the creation of technical course materials that align with the current demands of the global subsea industry.
Mandatory Experience & Requirements
-
Experience Profile: 15–20+ years of total experience in offshore subsea projects.
-
Field Deployment: A minimum of 5+ years of direct offshore field deployment; this role is for a practitioner, not just a classroom trainer.
-
Vessel Exposure: Hands-on experience onboard at least two of the following:
-
Heavy Lift Vessels (HLV)
-
Pipe Lay Support Vessels (PLSV)
-
Diving Construction Vessels (DCV)
-
Subsea Construction / IMR Vessels
-
-
Installation Mastery: Demonstrated involvement in installing manifolds, templates, risers, and deepwater SURF scopes.
-
Soft Skills: Ability to mentor, excellent English communication skills, and a “pleasing personality” suited for professional corporate training.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Academic Background: MSc in Offshore Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering.
-
Equivalency: Equivalent deep-water offshore field experience is accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree for highly seasoned professionals.
