Job Description: Strategic Mechanical Procurement Engineer (EPC/Fabrication)

Emarat Aloula Contracting (EAC), a division of the prestigious Ali & Sons Co., is seeking a Strategic Mechanical Procurement Engineer to join our expansive operations in Abu Dhabi.

Operating from a massive 280,000m² facility with six dedicated fabrication bays, EAC is a powerhouse in the petrochemical, water, and infrastructure sectors. In this role, you will not just be “buying parts”—you will be a strategic link between engineering and execution. You will manage the procurement of complex mechanical components and raw materials for large-scale fabrication and EPC projects, ensuring that every acquisition aligns with our PRIDE core values: Planning, Reliability, Innovation, Determination, and Experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Sourcing: Lead the procurement of mechanical equipment, piping components, and raw materials for heavy fabrication and EPC projects.

• Vendor Strategy: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with global and local suppliers, ensuring they meet the high-quality standards required for petrochemical and infrastructure works.

• Bid Management: Prepare and issue Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and Commercial Bid Evaluations (CBE), coordinating closely with the engineering team to ensure technical compliance.

• Cost Optimization: Implement strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce costs without compromising the integrity or safety of the mechanical systems.

• Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire procurement cycle from initial requisition (PR) to final delivery at the fabrication yard or project site.

• Contract Negotiation: Negotiate complex terms and conditions with vendors to mitigate risk and ensure favorable delivery schedules for time-sensitive projects.

• Expediting & Logistics: Coordinate with the logistics team to track high-priority mechanical items, ensuring they arrive in time to feed the six fabrication bays and avoid production downtime.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (essential for understanding technical specifications).

• Experience: Proven track record in procurement within an EPC or Heavy Fabrication environment.

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical materials (steel grades, piping, valves, static/rotating equipment) and international standards (API, ASME, ASTM).

• Market Insight: Familiarity with the UAE and regional supplier landscape for the Oil & Gas and Water sectors.

• Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a high-pressure, multidisciplinary environment.
