Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Patient Care: Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, and evaluate care for patients in the Labor & Delivery unit, involving families in the care plan.

• Clinical Excellence: Perform critical care assessments and specialized interventions, including Apgar scoring, bladder catheterization during labor, and neonatal resuscitation.

• Safety & Compliance: Abide by Joint Commission International (JCI) requirements and International Patient Safety Goals. Ensure the safe handling and administration of controlled medications.

• Emergent Intervention: Assist in high-acuity situations such as emergent cesarean births and antepartum external cephalic versions.

• Coordination & Documentation: Plan clinical pathways, prioritize care based on individual needs, and maintain meticulous electronic medical records according to hospital standards.

• Quality Improvement: Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, including incident reporting and data collection to enhance patient outcomes.

• Preceptorship (Optional): When qualified, mentor and evaluate new staff using the hospital’s “Green Book” and “Blue Book” competency standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: * Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (minimum 3 years duration) OR

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum 2 years) with Registration from Tier-1 countries (USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, NZ, or Australia).

• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of recent post-graduate experience specifically in a Labor & Delivery Unit.

• Licensure: Must hold a valid license to practice in your home country or country of last employment. Must be eligible for a DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license.

• Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is highly preferred.

• Skills: Expert proficiency in fetal monitoring, age-specific assessment, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
