Job Description: Special Needs Nanny (SEN)

A private family residing in Jumeirah, Dubai is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Part-Time SEN Nanny . This specialized role is designed to support a 6-year-old boy within a nurturing home environment, focusing on his social-emotional growth and the practical application of therapeutic interventions.

This position is significantly more than standard childcare; it requires a professional who can act as a bridge between clinical therapy and daily life. You will be responsible for translating Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) goals into engaging, play-based activities that help the child navigate sensory sensitivities and develop essential social communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Therapeutic Support: Apply OT and SLT-informed strategies throughout the day to support speech development, motor skills, and sensory processing.

• Emotional Regulation: Guide the child in identifying emotions and using “self-soothing” tools to manage overstimulation or frustration.

• Social Coaching: Facilitate structured play dates and interactions to help the child master turn-taking, eye contact, and social cues.

• Sensory Management: Identify environmental triggers and implement “sensory diets” or calming techniques to manage sensitivities.

• Engagement & Play: Create developmentally appropriate activities that are both therapeutic and fun, ensuring the child remains motivated.

• Collaborative Care: Work closely with parents and external therapists to ensure a consistent approach to the child’s development goals.

Essential Requirements

• Specialized Experience: Proven track record supporting children with Social Communication Needs (eg, Autism Spectrum, ADHD, or similar profiles).

• Therapeutic Knowledge: Practical experience implementing strategies from Occupational Therapy (OT) and/or Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) .

• Emotional Intelligence: A patient, calm, and highly observant approach to child behavior.

• Skill Set: Ability to foster a secure, trusting relationship while maintaining the structure and consistency the child requires.

• Language: Native or professional-level English fluency.
