Senior Staff Nurse – Nad Al Sheba

AMERICAN HOSPITAL

Job Description: Senior Staff Nurse (Nad Al Sheba Clinic)

Are you a clinical leader with a passion for excellence in community-based healthcare? American Hospital Dubai is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Nurse to oversee clinical operations at our Nad Al Sheba satellite clinic.

In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between frontline patient care and administrative leadership. You are responsible for ensuring a smooth, safe, and high-quality patient flow, supervising nursing staff, and maintaining the rigorous standards of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA). If you are a proactive professional who thrives on coordinating multidisciplinary care and optimizing clinic performance, this is your opportunity to lead within one of the region’s most prestigious healthcare networks.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Patient Care

  • Patient-Centered Care: Utilize the nursing process to provide age-specific care, conducting thorough physical and psychological assessments of patients and their families.

  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to prioritize clinical pathways and revise care plans based on evolving patient needs.

  • Supervision: Provide expert advice and supervision to staff nurses and care assistants, ensuring that nursing documentation meets all hospital policies.

Operational & Quality Oversight

  • Clinic Management: Oversee the daily “Quality Rounds” and environmental audits, ensuring action plans are implemented for any deficiencies found.

  • KPI Management: Track and report on clinic-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including documentation accuracy, CRM closure times, and Press Ganey patient satisfaction scores.

  • Inventory Control: Monitor clinic stock to maintain required “Par levels,” working with Materials Management to minimize slow-moving inventory.

  • Revenue Cycle Support: Follow up on insurance approvals and coordinate with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and the OR coordinator to schedule surgeries and manage financial approvals.

Safety & Compliance

  • Accreditation Standards: Maintain readiness for JCIA audits through mandatory staff education on fire safety, infection control, and clinical competencies.

  • Medication Safety: Ensure the safe handling, administration, and documentation of controlled and semi-controlled drugs.

  • Risk Management: Facilitate root cause analysis for clinical incidents and ensure all “safe points” are addressed in a timely manner to prevent walkouts and errors.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Nursing Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (min. 3 years) OR a 2-year Nursing Degree with Registration from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, NZ, or Australia.

  • License: Must hold a valid license/registration to practice in your home country or country of last employment.

  • Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) or BCLS is essential.

Professional Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of recent post-graduate nursing experience.

  • Leadership: Previous experience as a Team Leader or Senior Registered Nurse is highly advantageous.

  • Clinical Skills: Proven ability to perform critical care assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced clinic environment.
