Job Description: Senior M&P Engineer (Mechanical & Plumbing)

STRABAG SE , a European-based technology group for construction services and a major player in the UAE’s infrastructure landscape, is seeking a Senior M&P Engineer . This role focuses on the execution of high-complexity building projects in Abu Dhabi, where mechanical and plumbing systems form the “circulatory system” of the structure.

As a Senior M&P Engineer with a main contractor, you are the technical bridge between the design consultants and the site execution teams. You will manage the technical integrity, procurement, and installation of HVAC, firefighting, water supply, and drainage systems. Your success depends on your ability to navigate the strict regulatory environment of Abu Dhabi (ADDC, ADSSC, Civil Defence) while managing the tight margins and schedules typical of a multinational firm like STRABAG.

Key Responsibilities

• Package Management: Take full ownership of Mechanical and Plumbing work packages, from technical submittals to final handover.

• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Lead the coordination between M&P and Civil/Structural teams to ensure proper sleeve openings, equipment foundations, and service clearances.

• Authority Liaison: Ensure all designs and installations comply with UAE authorities, including Abu Dhabi Civil Defense (ADCD) for firefighting and ADSSC/ADDC for water and sanitation.

• Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to optimize system designs to reduce costs without compromising performance or regulatory compliance.

• Subcontractor Oversight: Supervise MEP subcontractors to ensure work quality, safety standards, and adherence to the project program.

• Procurement Support: Review technical bids for long-lead equipment such as chillers, pumps, and AHUs (Air Handling Units), ensuring they meet project specifications.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering .

• Experience: 5–10 years of proven experience, specifically working with a Main Contractor on large-scale, complex building projects.

• Regional Expertise: In-depth knowledge of UAE building codes and authority approval processes.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reviewing HVAC cooling load calculations, hydraulic calculations, and shop drawings.

• Soft Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills to manage multinational teams and high-pressure site environments.
