KBR , a global powerhouse in mission-critical engineering and sustainable technology, is seeking a high-caliber Senior Electrical Engineer (Operations and Readiness) to join our project management consultancy (PMC) team in Abu Dhabi. This is a strategic role designed for a technical veteran who specializes in the critical transition phase of MEGA EPC projects — moving from construction completion to operational excellence.

As a Senior Engineer within our Sustainable Technology Solutions division, you will be the bridge between design intent and operational reality. You will ensure that complex electrical systems across massive onshore Oil & Gas assets are not only installed correctly but are “Ready for Operations” (RFO). This involves rigorous oversight of EPC contractors, validation of commissioning procedures, and ensuring that sustainability and safety goals are integrated into the asset’s lifecycle from day one. Key Responsibilities

• Operations Readiness: Lead the “Operations and Readiness” workflow for the electrical scope, ensuring all systems meet stringent performance and safety criteria before handover.

• PMC Oversight: Act as the technical authority on behalf of the client, providing rigorous oversight of EPC contractors during the final stages of execution and commissioning.

• Asset Life Cycle Management: Apply deep technical domain expertise to optimize planned assets, focusing on high-end engineering capabilities and energy transition solutions.

• Technical Validation: Review and approve complex electrical design packages, commissioning procedures, and maintenance philosophies for large-scale onshore facilities.

• Sustainability Integration: Drive the implementation of KBR’s sustainability goals, ensuring electrical systems are optimized for energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

• Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate seamless communication between EPC contractors, vendor specialists, and the client’s operational teams to mitigate risks during the transition to live operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: A minimum of 15+ years of professional experience in the execution of EPC contracts within the Oil & Gas industry .

• Project Profile: Demonstrated experience working on MEGA projects ; Specific experience (8+ years) in Onshore projects is a significant advantage.

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.

• Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of international electrical standards, power distribution systems, and operational readiness frameworks (RFO).

• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities, a “team of teams” mindset, and the ability to navigate complex PMC/Client/Contractor dynamics.
