In this role, you will be part of a global engineering powerhouse that is redefining the “built environment” through digital twin technology, predictive maintenance, and autonomous design. You won’t just be building chatbots; you will be architecting the “Digital Brain” for smart cities, transportation networks, and sustainable energy projects. Your Technical & Engineering Mission

AI-Driven Engineering & Optimization

• Digital Twins & Simulation: Develop and deploy ML models that enhance 3D simulations and digital twins, allowing for real-time monitoring and predictive analysis of physical assets.

• Predictive Asset Management: Build high-fidelity models for infrastructure health monitoring, predicting structural failures or maintenance needs before they occur.

• Generative Design: Architect AI solutions that assist engineers in “optioneering”—using generative algorithms to design more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable structures.

Enterprise MLOps & Scalability

• Production Pipelines: Design and maintain robust CI/CD and MLOps pipelines using Kubernetes and Docker, ensuring that models are scalable, observable, and reliable in “mission-critical” environments.

• Complex Data Integration: Work with diverse datasets—from geospatial and CAD files to real-time sensor data—designing ETL processes that ensure data integrity for training and inference.

• Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage AWS, Azure, or GCP to host and manage large-scale AI workloads, focusing on latency and computational efficiency.

Strategic Leadership & Mentorship

• Technical Guidance: Act as the lead architect for AI projects, selecting the right tech stacks (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow) and defining the technical roadmap.

• Stakeholder Translation: Communicate the value of AI-driven engineering to non-technical project managers and clients, ensuring that technology solutions meet complex business goals.

• Team Development: Mentor junior developers and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and best-practice software engineering within the firm.

What You Bring to SNC-Lavalin

• Experience: 6+ years in AI/ML engineering or software development, with a clear history of deploying production-grade AI solutions.

• Technical Core: Expert proficiency in Python and deep familiarity with ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).

• Infrastructure Savvy: Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native services.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

• Problem-Solving: An “engineering mindset”—the ability to build systems that are not just smart, but are safe, ethical, and rigorously tested.
