Job Description: SEN Nanny / Manny (Special Educational Needs)

Snap Care , a specialist agency renowned for placing elite SEN professionals, is seeking a high-caliber SEN Nanny or Manny to support an intellectually gifted 6-year-old boy in Jumeirah, Dubai . This is not a typical childcare role; it is a therapeutic and educational partnership designed for a child with a high IQ who requires sophisticated support in social communication and emotional regulation.

Working with “James,” you will act as a facilitator between his high-level intellectual curiosity and his developmental needs in Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) . You will be expected to “weave” therapeutic goals into activities he loves—like chess, Lego, and wall climbing—ensuring that skill-building feels like natural, engaging play rather than a clinical session.

Key Responsibilities

• Therapeutic Integration: Implement tailored strategies from OT and SLT providers within the home environment to manage sensory sensitivities and improve social communication.

• Social-Emotional Coaching: Build “relational safety” to help James navigate emotional regulation, building his confidence in social settings.

• Intellectual Engagement: Engage with James’ complex questions and high-level interests (Chess, Lego, Science), fostering his giftedness while grounding his social development.

• Homeschooling Support: Collaborate with the existing homeschooling structure to reinforce academic and developmental milestones.

• Daily Activity Leadership: Lead physically and mentally stimulating activities, from nature walks and gymnastics to imaginative play.

• Professional Collaboration: Liaise with the family and external therapists to ensure a consistent, 360-degree approach to James’s growth.

Candidate Requirements

• SEN Expertise: Proven experience supporting children with social communication challenges and sensory processing needs.

• Therapy Background: Confident in implementing strategies from Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SLT).

• Academic Mindset: Comfortable engaging with a gifted child; an intellectual curiosity that matches the child’s is essential.

• Location: Must already be based in Dubai (Jumeirah area preferred). No accommodation is provided.

• Personality: Enthusiastic, creative, and patient, with the ability to build deep, trusting relationships with children.

• Familiarity: Experience with homeschooling or alternative education is highly desirable.
