The Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai (SISD) , now a proud member of the Nord Anglia Education family, is seeking a dedicated and linguistically proficient Secondary Learning Support Assistant (French) for a March 2026 start. This is a pivotal role within our inclusive secondary department, where you will provide targeted academic and emotional support to students within our unique bilingual IB framework.

As a Learning Support Assistant at SISD, you are a bridge to success for students with diverse learning needs. Working within the English/French bilingual stream, you will utilize your fluency in French to adapt curriculum materials, facilitate small-group interventions, and ensure that every learner—regardless of their starting point—can access the rigors of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Key Responsibilities

• Bilingual Academic Support: Provide tailored assistance to secondary students in French-taught subjects, ensuring they grasp complex concepts within the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP).

• Individualized Learning: Work one-on-one or with small groups to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), helping students overcome specific learning barriers.

• Classroom Collaboration: Partner with subject teachers to differentiate lesson plans and prepare “enabling” resources that cater to various learning styles and linguistic abilities.

• Inclusion Advocacy: Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture where students feel confident to take risks and engage in their bilingual studies.

• Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking student data, observing behavioral or academic trends, and providing regular feedback to the Learning Support and Pastoral teams.

• Safeguarding: Actively uphold SISD’s stringent safeguarding policies, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment for all students.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Linguistic Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in French and English is essential to navigate our bilingual curriculum.

• Educational Background: A degree in Education, Psychology, French, or a related field is highly desirable.

• Experience: Previous experience in a learning support role, specifically within a secondary school or an IB framework, is preferred.

• Core Competencies: Exceptional patience, empathy, and the ability to explain complex ideas in multiple ways.

• Technical Savvy: Comfort using educational technology to enhance the 21st-century learning experience.

• Vetting: Must be willing to undergo comprehensive international background checks, including social media and criminal record screening.
