Are you a doctorate-level researcher passionate about the longevity and resilience of the built environment? The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a high-caliber Research Associate to join our structural engineering research initiatives.

This role is centered on the frontier of structural rehabilitation and innovative material science. You will lead the design of cutting-edge retrofitting systems, leveraging composite materials to breathe new life into reinforced concrete (RC) structures. From hands-on experimental material characterization to the development of sophisticated numerical models, you will be at the heart of academic discovery in Abu Dhabi.

Core Responsibilities

• Innovative Design: Conceptualize and design advanced structural rehabilitation systems utilizing composite materials (FRP, etc.) for existing RC structures.

• Experimental Testing: Coordinate and execute laboratory experiments for material characterization and the structural performance evaluation of concrete members.

• Modeling & Analysis: Develop and validate complex analytical and numerical models to predict the behavior of reinforced and retrofitted structural elements.

• Academic Contribution: Translate experimental findings into high-impact technical papers for publication in prestigious, peer-reviewed international journals.

• Technical Authority: Apply deep expertise in structural analysis, construction materials, and RC design to solve challenging research problems.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: A Ph.D. in Civil Structural Engineering is mandatory.

• Research Output: A proven track record of writing and publishing technical papers in peer-reviewed journals.

• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of structural engineering software and advanced data analysis tools.

• Experimental Skills: Hands-on experience with material testing, structural instrumentation, and performance monitoring.

• Soft Skills: A self-starter with the ability to lead research tasks independently while collaborating effectively within a multi-disciplinary academic group.
