Job Description: Radar Growth & Capture Director — UAE

SAAB , a global leader in defense and security, is seeking a Radar Growth & Capture Director for its Abu Dhabi operations. This is a high-stakes, executive-level role focused on securing the next generation of radar and surveillance contracts for the UAE’s Armed Forces and strategic industrial partners.

As the Capture Director, you are the chief architect of SAAB’s market expansion in the region. You will oversee the entire “Capture Lifecycle”—from identifying multi-billion dollar opportunities in air defense and maritime surveillance to leading the submission of complex, winning technical proposals. This role requires a blend of high-level engineering intelligence, sophisticated military sales strategy, and the cultural nuances required to build long-term trust with UAE defense entities like EDGE Group and the Ministry of Defense.

Key Responsibilities

• Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a multi-year growth roadmap for SAAB’s radar portfolio, including Ground Based Operational Radars (GBOR), naval radars, and airborne surveillance (AEW&C).

• Capture Management: Lead high-impact “Win Rooms” for major defense tenders, managing multidisciplinary teams across engineering, finance, and legal to deliver winning bids.

• Stakeholder Diplomacy: Act as the primary interface for military leadership and industry stakeholders, navigating complex procurement cycles and offset requirements.

• Market Intelligence: Analyze competitor movements and regional geopolitical shifts to position SAAB’s technologies (such as the GlobalEye or Giraffe radar families) as the preferred solution.

• Proposal Leadership: Oversee the technical and commercial integrity of proposals, ensuring compliance with UAE defense regulations and international export controls.

• International Representation: Travel globally to SAAB’s centers of excellence (primarily in Sweden) to align local UAE requirements with global R&D efforts.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications, or Aerospace preferred).

• Experience: Minimum 8+ years of proven success in high-value Defense Sales and Capture Management .

• Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of Radar Systems , Electronic Warfare (EW), and Command & Control (C2) architectures.

• Vetting: Ability to pass rigorous security clearance and background checks.

• Communication: Elite negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to influence C-suite and high-ranking military officials.
