SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services) is seeking a disciplined and proactive Practical Nurse (PN) to join our Emergency Department team. In the fast-paced environment of the ER, you will provide essential clinical support under the supervision of Registered Nurses, ensuring that every patient receives timely, safe, and compassionate care.

As a Practical Nurse at SEHA, you are a vital link in the emergency response chain. Your role combines technical clinical tasks—such as ECGs, phlebotomy, and wound care—with the critical logistics of maintaining a ready-to-respond unit. Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Support & Treatment: Measure and record vital signs, perform phlebotomy, conduct ECGs, and provide basic wound care and infection monitoring.

• Emergency Response: Assist in life-saving procedures (BLS), maintain “E-Carts” and Broselow carts, and ensure all emergency equipment is functional and ready for immediate use.

• Patient Flow & Transport: Escort stable patients to specialty clinics/Radiology, assist Registered Nurses in transporting admitted patients, and accompany home-discharge patients via ambulance.

• Unit Logistics: Manage and dispense CSSD items, maintain clinical inventory, and ensure exam rooms are stocked and prepared between patient contacts.

• Care Coordination: Assist with Point of Care Testing (POCT) and quality control, document care accurately in electronic medical records, and promptly report any changes in patient condition to the RN.

• Patient Advocacy: Provide emotional reassurance to families in crisis and assist in preparing patients for discharge through clear communication and instruction.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Diploma in Nursing (minimum 18-month course duration) from an accredited institution.

• Licensing: Valid Current National License and eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi licensure as a Practical Nurse.

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar clinical or emergency health setting.

• Certifications: * Required: Basic Life Support (BLS).

  • Desired: ACLS and PALS (highly beneficial for the ER setting).

• Skills: Strong team dynamics, proficiency in medical record documentation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
