Cloud Energy gas
Job Description: Planning Engineer / Projects Planner
Cloud Energy Gas , a specialized player in Abu Dhabi’s natural gas and utilities sector, is seeking a high-precision Planning Engineer . This role is vital for the orchestration of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects, specifically focusing on gas asset fabrication and distribution infrastructure.
As the Projects Planner, you will be the “navigator” of the project lifecycle. You will translate complex engineering requirements into actionable timelines, ensuring that procurement lead times, fabrication cycles, and on-site commissioning align perfectly. In the volatile environment of gas infrastructure, your ability to manage the critical path and anticipate bottlenecks is the difference between a project delivered on time and a costly delay. If you are a power user of Primavera P6 and have a sharp eye for resource optimization, Cloud Energy Gas offers a dynamic platform for your expertise.
Key Responsibilities
-
Master Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed EPC schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, encompassing Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) phases.
-
WBS Architecture: Build robust Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to ensure every bolt and beam is accounted for in the project hierarchy.
-
Progress Intelligence: Update schedules regularly to reflect real-world progress. Generate S-curves, dashboards, and KPI metrics to provide management with clear visibility into project health.
-
Critical Path Analysis: Identify high-risk activities that could delay the final handover and propose proactive mitigation strategies.
-
Resource & Cost Integration: Link schedule activities to cost accounts and resource histograms (manpower, machinery, materials) to ensure cost control and prevent resource over-allocation.
-
Risk Management: Participate in project review meetings and interface with QA/QC and commissioning teams to assess schedule-related risks.
-
Project Close-Out: Deliver comprehensive “As-Built” schedules and project completion reports for final client handover.
Qualifications & Requirements
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
-
Experience: Minimum 5 years of planning experience specifically within EPC projects (Oil & Gas, Natural Gas, or Utilities).
-
Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is mandatory.
-
ERP Knowledge: Experience with ERP integration is required; Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a significant advantage.
-
Competencies: Deep understanding of the EPC execution cycle, resource leveling, and critical path method (CPM).
