Are you a master of the critical path with a deep understanding of what it takes to keep massive infrastructure projects on track? Emarat Aloula Contracting is looking for a strategic planning engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi.

This role is centered on the backbone of the city—district cooling and utility infrastructure. We need someone who can go beyond just entering data into Primavera P6 ; we need an engineer who can visualize the sequencing of chilled water (CHW) networks, coordinate utility corridors, and navigate the complexities of Extension of Time (EOT) claims. If you have a proven track record of managing schedules for government-level utility projects in the UAE, you are the person we are looking for.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed, cost-loaded, and resource-loaded baseline programs using Primavera P6 .

• Progress Analytics: Generate high-level reporting tools, including S-curves, earned value reports, and manpower/equipment histograms.

• Delay & Variance Analysis: Proactively identify critical path risks, conduct variance analysis, and design recovery plans to mitigate delays.

• Contractual Support: Lead the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, utilizing impacted and window analysis methodologies.

• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Align engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) workflows to ensure material availability matches site requirements.

• Stakeholder Management: Represent the planning function in high-level progress meetings with clients and consultants, providing data-driven narratives and KPI reports.

Your Technical Expertise

• Industry Focus: Direct experience in District Cooling (CHW piping) and general infrastructure (sewerage, stormwater, potable water, and roadworks).

• Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Excel is mandatory.

• Methodologies: Deep understanding of resource loading, progress measurement, and infrastructure sequencing.

• Local Knowledge: Experience working with Abu Dhabi government or semi-government entities (eg, Tabreed ) is a distinct advantage.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering.

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant planning experience within the UAE or GCC.

• Certifications: PMP or formal planning certifications are highly preferred.

• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to translate complex site data into clear, actionable planning narratives.
