Job Description: Physics Teacher (English Medium)
Are you a subject matter expert capable of making the laws of the universe accessible to English Language Learners? The UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) is seeking dedicated Physics Teachers to join the national school system in Abu Dhabi .
This role is unique in its dual focus: delivering high-level physics concepts while simultaneously fostering the linguistic ability of Arab youth. You will be responsible for creating a “language-rich,” hands-on classroom where students develop the technical and communicative skills necessary to function in a global scientific environment.

Learner-Centered Instruction: Model a classroom environment that prioritizes hands-on experimentation, active participation, and student engagement.

Linguistic Integration: Bridge the gap for students studying complex Physics concepts in English (as a second language), ensuring they meet age-related academic outcomes.

Rigorous Assessment: Deliver valid and rigorous assessments in line with MOE strategies to accurately track and record student achievement.

Differentiated Support: Identify individual learning needs and guide students through the specific challenges of the Physics curriculum.

Professional Collaboration: Build effective working relationships with colleagues to support the overarching goals of the Science department.
Requirements for Candidates
For Expatriate Applicants:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) in Physics, Applied Physics, Nuclear Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerodynamics, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree is desirable.

Experience: * Without License: 3+ years of full-time post-qualification school teaching.

With License: 2+ years of full-time post-qualification school teaching.

Accepted Certifications: B.Ed, M.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, DELTA, or MOE Teaching License.

Language Proficiency: TOEFL iBT score of 79-93 (or equivalent) required within six months of joining.

Age Limit: Up to 55 years old.

Licensing: Must obtain a UAE Teacher’s License within two years of joining.
For Emirati Nationals:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physics or related engineering fields; Minimum GPA of 2.5 .

Experience: No previous teaching experience required.

Language Proficiency: TOEFL iBT (or equivalent) required within six months of joining.

Age Limit: Up to 55 years old.
The EMI (English as Medium of Instruction) Strategy
In this role, you will apply the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach, where the subject matter and the English language are taught in tandem:
By using visual aids, scaffolding, and hands-on laboratory work, you will help students navigate the transition from basic English to CALP (Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency) in Physics.
