Mediclinic Al Ain Hospital is seeking a highly specialized Ophthalmology Operating Room (OR) Nurse to join our world-class surgical team in Al Ain. In this role, you will be a vital technical partner to our surgeons, providing high-precision support during complex ocular procedures such as cataract extractions, retinal surgeries, and oculoplastic repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Surgical Precision: Act as a Scrub Nurse for a variety of ophthalmic surgeries, ensuring all microsurgical instruments and specialized implants are prepared and handled correctly.

• Technological Oversight: Operate and maintain advanced ophthalmic equipment, including phacoemulsification systems and surgical microscopes.

• Clinical Safety: Implement rigorous patient safety standards, including surgical “Time-Outs,” infection control, and sterile technique protocols.

• Mentorship & Learning: Contribute to a high-performance culture by coaching junior staff and nursing students in ophthalmic-specific surgical techniques.

• Patient Experience: Create a calm, professional environment for patients undergoing delicate eye procedures, often under local anesthesia.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is essential.

• Licensure: Valid DOH Abu Dhabi (formerly HAAD) Registered Nurse license or eligibility.

• Experience: * Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in your home country.

  • Desired: 3+ years of recent experience specifically as a Scrub Nurse in Ophthalmology .

• Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certificates are mandatory.

• Skills: Proficiency in English (verbal/written); Basic Arabic skills are highly advantageous for patient interaction in Al Ain.
