Offshore Installation Manager

KBR

Job Description: Offshore Installation Manager (PMC)

Are you a veteran of the seas with the strategic grit to lead mega-scale energy projects? KBR is seeking an Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) to spearhead a major Project Management Consultancy (PMC) offshore initiative in Abu Dhabi.

In this high-stakes leadership role, you will be the ultimate authority at the offshore site, overseeing the complex installation of pipelines, jackets, and topsides. Representing the interests of the client, you will manage a multi-vessel fleet and diverse teams to ensure that engineering blueprints are translated into physical reality—safely, responsibly, and with absolute precision. KBR is a hub for “innovators and dreamers,” and we need a leader who can maintain our Zero Harm culture while navigating the logistical and technical demands of offshore mega-projects.

Your Operational & Strategic Mission

Offshore Installation Oversight

  • Mega-Project Execution: Lead the installation phase of offshore assets, including the positioning and securing of massive jackets and the intricate lifting and integration of topsides.

  • Marine Operations Management: Coordinate the movements and activities of installation vessels, pipe-lay barges, and heavy-lift ships to ensure optimized workflows and minimal downtime.

  • Pipeline Infrastructure: Oversee the subsea installation of pipelines, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with rigorous environmental and technical specifications.

Project Management Consultancy (PMC) Leadership

  • Client Representation: Act as the primary on-site representative for the PMC team, ensuring the EPC contractor adheres to the project schedule, quality standards, and budget.

  • HSE & Zero Harm: Champion KBR’s “Zero Harm” philosophy. You are the final authority on safety, ensuring all offshore activities mitigate risks to personnel and the marine environment.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve high-impact engineering and logistical challenges in real-time to maintain the critical path of the project.

Logistics & Personnel Management

  • Rotation Leadership: Manage a diverse offshore workforce on a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation, fostering a culture of collaboration and resilience.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise between offshore teams and onshore project management to provide constant updates on progress, risks, and resource requirements.

What You Bring to KBR

  • Experience: 20+ years of total experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a proven track record in Mega Offshore Projects.

  • Specialized Expertise: 5–8 years specifically focused on managing offshore installation activities (pipelines, jackets, topsides) using specialized vessels.

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a mandatory requirement.

  • Local Advantage: Previous experience with ADNOC projects is highly advantageous and will significantly aid in navigating local regulatory and safety standards.

  • Leadership Style: A “team of teams” philosophy, valuing diversity, inclusion, and the ability to lead under pressure in remote environments.
