Job Description: Nuclear Medicine Nurse – Patient-Centric Care Leader
Mediclinic International is looking for a specialized Nuclear Medicine Registered Nurse to join our advanced diagnostic and therapeutic imaging team in Abu Dhabi. This role is designed for a clinician who can master the intersection of high-tech radiopharmaceuticals and high-touch patient care.
In Nuclear Medicine, precision is everything. You will be responsible for preparing patients for complex scans (such as PET/CT or SPECT), administering radioactive isotopes, and monitoring patient safety throughout the diagnostic process. As a “Care Leader,” you will not only manage the technical requirements of the department but also mentor junior staff and provide a calming presence for patients navigating complex diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities

Radiopharmaceutical Administration: Safely administer diagnostic and therapeutic radioactive isotopes via injection, inhalation, or ingestion.

Patient Preparation & Safety: Educate patients on pre-scan requirements (eg, fasting or hydration) and manage radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure for patients and staff.

Clinical Monitoring: Assess patient vitals and manage potential adverse reactions to isotopes or pharmacological stress agents.

Multi-Professional Collaboration: Partner with Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Radiologists, and Technologists to ensure accurate imaging results and seamless care.

Mentorship: Take a proactive role in coaching and upskilling junior nursing employees within the diagnostic imaging department.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory.

Experience: * Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in your home country.

Prior experience in Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, or Oncology is highly preferred.

Previous experience within the UAE healthcare system is a significant advantage.

Licensing: Valid Registered Nurse license; must be eligible for DOH Abu Dhabi (formerly HAAD) license.

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is essential.

Skills: Proficiency in radiation safety standards, strong intravenous (IV) insertion skills, and excellent patient communication.
