Job Description: Mechanical Specialist (Static Equipment)

KBR , a global leader in high-end engineering and project management, is seeking a Mechanical Specialist – Static for a high-profile Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract in Abu Dhabi. This role is focused on large-scale Gas Processing projects, supporting clients in achieving operational excellence and sustainability goals.

As a Mechanical Static Specialist, you will serve as the technical authority for non-rotating equipment. Your expertise will govern the design, procurement, and integrity of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and towers. In the context of a PMC role, you are the gatekeeper of quality, ensuring that EPC contractors deliver assets that meet ADNOC’s stringent technical specifications and international safety standards. If you are a veteran engineer with over 15 years in the hydrocarbons sector and a deep understanding of gas processing infrastructure, KBR offers a platform to lead significant energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Oversight: Lead the review and approval of mechanical design deliverables for static equipment, ensuring compliance with project-specific requirements and ADNOC standards.

• Static Equipment Mastery: Supervise the engineering of high-pressure vessels, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, columns/towers, and atmospheric storage tanks.

• PMC Governance: Review EPC contractor submittals, including mechanical data sheets, technical specifications, and fabrication drawings.

• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to international codes such as ASME Section VIII (Div 1 & 2) , API 650 , and TEMA standards for heat exchangers.

• Onshore/Offshore Coordination: Manage the unique technical challenges of gas processing equipment for both desert (onshore) and marine (offshore) environments, focusing on material selection and corrosion protection.

• Design Reviews: Lead and participate in technical workshops, including 3D model reviews and Mechanical Integrity assessments.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.

• Experience: Minimum 15+ years in the Oil & Gas industry.

• Mandatory Background: Proven experience in ADNOC projects and PMC roles is essential.

• Technical Scope: Deep expertise in FEED, Detailed Engineering , and EPC project phases.

• Environmental Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in both onshore and offshore gas processing plants.

• Specialization: Advanced knowledge of static equipment design software (eg, PV Elite, COMPRESS).
