Overview of the Role

As a Specialty Barista at La Maison Gateau Cafe , you will be the heartbeat of our sophisticated café environment in Abu Dhabi. This role is designed for a male professional who views coffee not just as a drink, but as an artisanal experience. You will be responsible for balancing technical brewing precision with the high-end hospitality expected at a premier “Gateau” (cake and pastry) destination. From mastering complex latte art to managing seamless POS transactions, you will ensure every guest receives a world-class caffeine experience.

Job Duties

• Specialty Coffee Crafting: Prepare and serve a full menu of specialty coffees and bespoke beverages, strictly adhering to La Maison Gateau’s quality and presentation standards.

• Artisanal Presentation: Showcase expertise in high-level latte art and precision beverage styling to complement our premium pastry offerings.

• Technical Equipment Mastery: Proficiently operate and calibrate high-end espresso machines, grinders, and manual brewing equipment (V60, Chemex, etc.).

• Guest Relations & Service: Deliver an exceptional “welcoming café experience,” proactively engaging with customers to identify their taste preferences and offer recommendations.

• Transaction Management: Accurately process customer orders and handle cash/card transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.

• Hygiene & Maintenance: Maintain a 5-star level of cleanliness and sanitation at the barista station and across all guest-facing areas.

• Operational Oversight: Actively monitor inventory levels of specialty beans, milk, and consumables, reporting stock requirements to management to ensure uninterrupted service.

Requirements

• Brewing Expertise: In-depth knowledge of various coffee bean profiles, roasting levels, and modern brewing methodologies.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse, high-profile Abu Dhabi clientele.

• Operational Stamina: Proven ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient while working under pressure during peak morning or weekend rushes.

• Professional Presence: Must be highly presentable, customer-focused, and maintain a polished appearance consistent with a luxury café setting.

• Reliability: Total commitment to a full-time schedule, including the flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
