KBR
Job Description: Lead Engineer, Interface
KBR , a premier global provider of science and technology solutions, is seeking a Lead Interface Engineer to drive technical integration for a high-profile Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract in Abu Dhabi. This role is focused on the complex world of Gas Processing , where seamless coordination between various technical entities is the difference between project success and systemic failure.
As the Lead Interface Engineer, you are the project’s “Technical Diplomat.” Large-scale gas projects involve a high density of physical and functional connection points—between onshore and offshore facilities, between KBR and ADNOC, and between various EPC contractors. Your mission is to manage these “Grey Areas” to ensure that data flows correctly, physical connections align perfectly, and no technical requirement falls through the cracks. This role begins in the Abu Dhabi office for the design phase and transitions to the site for execution and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
-
Interface Management System (IMS): Establish and govern the project’s Interface Management Plan, utilizing an Interface Register to track, manage, and close out Interface Revision Requests (IRRs).
-
Cross-Discipline Integration: Manage critical technical boundaries between Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Piping disciplines to prevent design clashes.
-
Onshore-Offshore Liaison: Oversee the complex technical interfaces where offshore pipelines meet onshore processing terminals, including pigging stations and emergency shutdown (ESD) logic.
-
PMC Governance: Act as the primary technical link between the Client (ADNOC) and the EPC contractors, ensuring that client requirements are clearly communicated and contractor outputs are validated.
-
Conflict Resolution: Lead technical workshops and “Interface Meetings” to resolve disputes between stakeholders regarding scope boundaries and battery limits.
-
Site Transition: Transition the interface management from the engineering office to the construction site, overseeing physical tie-ins and integrated system testing.
Qualifications & Requirements
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
-
Total Experience: Minimum 20+ years in the Oil & Gas industry.
-
Mandatory Background: Extensive experience in ADNOC Projects and PMC roles is essential.
-
Technical Scope: Deep expertise in FEED, Detailed Engineering , and EPC project phases.
-
Environmental Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in both onshore and offshore environments.
-
Specialization: Proven track record in managing interfaces for Gas Processing Plants and associated pipeline infrastructure.
