KBR , a premier global provider of technology and engineering solutions, is seeking a Lead Civil & Structural Engineer to join its Sustainable Technology Solutions business in Abu Dhabi. This high-profile role is embedded within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, overseeing a major gas processing and compression project for ADNOC .

As a Lead Engineer, you will be the technical cornerstone of the office-based engineering team. You aren’t just reviewing drawings; you are governing the structural integrity of massive energy assets. From designing blast-resistant modules to overseeing the structural life-extension of offshore platforms, your leadership ensures that the EPC contractors deliver a facility that is safe, sustainable, and compliant with ADNOC’s rigorous standards. This is a role for a veteran engineer who excels in a “team of teams” environment and has the technical gravitas to manage complex, multi-billion dollar project interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead and manage the Civil/Structural engineering discipline in an office environment, providing high-level guidance for FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and Detailed Engineering phases.

• PMC Governance: Act as the client’s representative, reviewing and approving contractor deliverables, technical bids, and structural calculations to ensure they meet project specifications.

• Onshore/Offshore Expertise: Oversee the structural design of gas processing plants, heavy equipment foundations, piperacks, substations, and offshore jacket/topside modifications.

• ADNOC Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to the latest ADNOC Technical Specifications , UAE codes, and international standards (AISC, ACI, API).

• Structural Integrity: Validate complex structural models for static and dynamic loading, including seismic, wind, and blast-resistant design for control buildings.

• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, and Piping departments to resolve spatial clashes and optimize structural supports in the 3D model.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Mandatory).

• Overall Experience: Minimum 18+ years in the Oil & Gas industry.

• Specific Experience: Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in both Onshore and Offshore project environments.

• Project Portfolio: Demonstrated experience in FEED & Detailed Engineering for Gas Processing and Gas Compression facilities.

• Client Background: Direct experience with ADNOC Projects and standards is highly preferred.

• Management: Proven track record of leading engineering teams in a PMC or high-end Design Consultancy capacity.
