Job Description: Lead Design Engineer, Instrumentation & Automation (Offshore)

Rejlers AB , a Swedish engineering powerhouse with an 83-year heritage, is seeking a Lead Design Engineer for Instrumentation & Automation to join its Abu Dhabi operations. This role is focused on high-complexity Offshore projects, ranging from Wellhead Towers to Process Platforms and artificial islands.

As a Lead Engineer at Rejlers, you will blend Nordic innovation with deep Middle Eastern oil and gas expertise. You will be responsible for the technical integrity of complex offshore packages, including HIPPS , ICSS , and large mechanical packages like Gas Compressors. This is a leadership position that requires not only technical mastery of SmartPlant tools and international standards but also the ability to manage budgets, man-hours, and multidisciplinary coordination in a fast-paced brownfield environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Offshore Technical Leadership: Lead FEED and Detailed Engineering for offshore assets, including Wellhead Control Panels (WHCP), RTU panels, and SCADA systems.

• Package Integration: Align with Mechanical teams to conduct Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for complex packages (Compressors, Heaters, Chemical Injection) and manage interfaces with Anti-Surge and Load Sharing control systems.

• Engineering Governance: Finalize the Engineering Document Deliverable Register (EDDR) and ensure all design computations, specifications, and drawings meet client and statutory requirements.

• Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard tools including SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) , Instrucalc , AutoCAD, and MicroStation to produce high-fidelity engineering data.

• Safety & Risk: Lead and participate in HAZOP and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) studies to ensure inherent safety in offshore automation design.

• Team Management: Supervise a team of engineers and designers, monitoring project schedules and controlling budget man-hours to ensure profitable and timely delivery.

• Quality Assurance: Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), ensuring the seamless transition from design to commissioning.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control , Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.

• Experience: Proven experience in a Lead role within the Oil & Gas sector, specifically focusing on Offshore Brownfield projects.

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of HIPPS , ICSS, VMS, and offshore package control philosophies.

• Software Skills: Mastery of SPI (InTools) , Instrucalc, and CAD platforms.
