Job Description: Graduate Engineering Growth & Training Lead
Penspen , a renowned global energy consultancy, is seeking a Graduate Engineering Growth & Training Lead for its Abu Dhabi operations. This role is a strategic bridge between academia and industry, focusing on nurturing the next generation of technical experts in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors.
As the Lead for Graduate Growth, you are the architect of a professional’s early career. You will not only manage technical training curricula but also serve as a mentor and career coach, ensuring that fresh engineers are seamlessly integrated into complex project teams. In a high-stakes consultancy environment like Penspen’s, your success is measured by how quickly and effectively these graduates can contribute to client-facing deliverables and specialized engineering tasks.
Key Responsibilities

Program Design: Develop and refine a structured multi-year Graduate Development Program (GDP) that covers technical engineering standards, project management, and soft skills.

Mentorship & Coaching: Act as a primary mentor, providing guidance on professional conduct, career paths, and technical problem-solving.

Performance Monitoring: Track graduate progress against Defined Competency Frameworks, ensuring they meet the milestones required to transition into mid-level engineering roles.

Integration Management: Work closely with Department Heads to place graduates into live projects where they can add value while learning “on the job.”

Continuous Improvement: Adapt training methodologies based on industry trends (eg, Energy Transition, Digital Twins) and feedback from project managers.

Client Readiness: Ensure graduates are trained in Penspen’s quality standards and communication protocols to prepare them for professional client interactions.
Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Proven experience in managing training programs, specifically within an engineering or technical consultancy environment.

Technical Background: A strong understanding of engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Process, etc.) to effectively mentor technical graduates.

Soft Skills: Exceptional emotional intelligence, communication, and the ability to foster a supportive, high-growth culture.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HR, or a related field with a heavy emphasis on professional development.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the energy sector in the UAE and international engineering best practices.
