Are you ready to build the interfaces that shape global economic policy? Whiteshield is seeking a Front End Developer for our AI Economics Unit . This is a high-impact role where you will transform complex data into actionable insights for governments and public-sector leaders.

Whiteshield sits at the intersection of economic expertise and applied AI. You will own the front-end implementation of analytical dashboards, decision platforms, and simulation tools that help ministries monitor economic outcomes and allocate budgets. From pixel-accurate UI to complex API-driven data binding, you will play a central role in delivering tools that solve real-world policy challenges.

Your Technical & Strategic Mission

Advanced UI & Data Visualization

• Modern React Engineering: Build high-performance, responsive user experiences using Next.js , React , and TypeScript .

• Analytical Dashboards: Own the development of data-heavy screens featuring charts, complex tables, and geospatial visualizations (using Mapbox or MapLibre ).

• Figma to Code: Translate high-fidelity Figma designs into pixel-accurate, maintainable UI components with a focus on accessibility and consistent typography.

API Integration & Contract-Driven Development

• API Binding: Implement robust integrations with Python (FastAPI) backends, managing authentication flows, request lifecycles, and resilient asynchronous states.

• Contract-First Approach: Work directly with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation to ensure strong contract alignment and predictable data payloads.

• Performance Optimization: Ensure smooth rendering on data-intensive platforms through code splitting, caching strategies, and efficient state management.

AI-Assisted & Conversational UX

• Next-Gen Interfaces: Contribute to AI-assisted product experiences, including conversational interfaces that support policy exploration.

• Streaming & Real-Time UI: Implement chat-enabled patterns such as streaming responses and conversation state management for LLM-integrated workflows.

What You Bring to Whiteshield

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional experience delivering production-grade front-end applications.

• The Stack: Strong proficiency in Next.js , React , TypeScript , and TailwindCSS .

• DevOps Literacy: Hands-on experience with Docker for local development and familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

• Integration Skills: Proven ability to bind REST APIs and manage complex data-fetching patterns.

• Mindset: A high-ownership attitude with the ability to translate vague policy concepts into elegant digital experiences.
