Overview of the Role

As a Barista – Espresso & Guest Experience for Kelvin Catering Services, you will be the primary crafter of high-quality coffee and beverages across our premium managed facilities in Abu Dhabi. This role goes beyond manual coffee preparation; it is about creating a consistent, “hospitality-first” environment for corporate and residential guests. You will manage high-volume service periods with technical precision and a focus on speed, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

Job Duties

• Expert Beverage Crafting: Operate professional espresso machines to prepare a full range of specialty coffees, teas, and signature beverages to exact recipe standards.

• Elevate Guest Experience: Provide proactive, welcoming service, identifying guest preferences and offering personalized beverage recommendations.

• Maintain Aesthetic Standards: Ensure the coffee station and seating areas are pristine, organized, and inviting throughout the trading day.

• Sanitation & Hygiene: Follow strict HACCP and food safety guidelines, including regular deep-cleaning of grinders, espresso groups, and milk pitchers.

• Inventory Coordination: Monitor stock levels of beans, dairy, and consumables, reporting requirements to the facility manager to ensure zero service downtime.

• Speed ​​of Service: Manage high-volume “rush hours” efficiently without compromising the quality of the pour or the guest interaction.

• Equipment Care: Perform daily calibration of grinders and routine maintenance of espresso machines to ensure peak extraction quality.

Requirements

• Technical Espresso Skills: Advanced knowledge of grind adjustment, milk texturing (latte art preferred), and extraction timing.

• Customer Service Excellence: A friendly, professional demeanor with the ability to handle guest inquiries and feedback gracefully.

• Physical Resilience: Ability to stand for the duration of a full-time shift and work in a high-energy, fast-paced catering environment.

• Shift Flexibility: Total availability to work a rotating schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

• Communication: Good verbal English skills to interact with a diverse, international clientele in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of professional Barista experience in a high-standard café or hospitality environment.

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Preferred Credential: A Diploma in Hospitality or a specialized Barista Certification (SCA or equivalent).

• Legal Authorization: Must be eligible for full-time employment in Abu Dhabi.
