Are you a systems administrator or DevOps professional who enjoys getting out from behind the desk and into the field? SecureTech is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between our engineering lab and our large-scale client environments.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will own the entire deployment lifecycle—from designing server architectures and unboxing hardware to fine-tuning Linux/Windows configurations and hardening production environments. We need a “jack-of-all-trades” who can troubleshoot a JVM-based application, automate a deployment script, and manage a high-pressure client interaction all in the same afternoon. If you can navigate Active Directory delegations, configure an Nginx web server, and—most importantly— actually exit Vim , we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• On-Site Execution: Travel to customer sites to lead the installation, configuration, and support of both hardware and software.

• System Architecture: Design robust server architectures, perform capacity planning, and implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

• Hybrid Environments: Deploy and manage applications across both Linux and Windows ecosystems, including web servers (Nginx, IIS) and core services (DNS/DHCP, Active Directory).

• Database Management: Set up and operate a variety of backends, including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Redis, and MinIO.

• Automation & Hardening: Write clean automation scripts (Python/PowerShell) and maintain system security through OS patching, firewall configuration, and system hardening.

• Feedback Loop: Translate real-world field observations and customer feedback into technical requirements for the development team.

Your Technical Toolkit

• Experience: At least 4 years in system deployment, field engineering, or operations.

• Linux/Windows Mastery: Strong command of Linux CLI tools and deep knowledge of Microsoft server technologies (Active Directory security is a must).

• Containerization: Practical experience deploying and troubleshooting Dockerized applications and JVM-based software.

• Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Networking: A solid grasp of computer networking fundamentals and firewall management.

• Communication: Fluent English and the ability to work independently while representing the company to high-profile clients.
