Job Description: EFL Teacher (Intensive English Programme)

This program is a cornerstone of language development in the region, delivering exceptional training to over 6,500 students annually. Based in purpose-built centers with state-of-the-art facilities on a university campus, this role offers the chance to work at the intersection of traditional classroom excellence and modern language acquisition technology. We are looking for teachers who are not only subject-matter experts but also active contributors to university life, helping students bridge the gap between their current proficiency and academic success.


Main Responsibilities

  • Instructional Delivery: Teach up to 25 contact hours per week, ensuring engaging and effective delivery of the Intensive English curriculum.

  • Assessment Management: Handle the preparation, administration, and marking of placement, progress, and achievement tests to track student growth accurately.

  • Content Development: Design and implement supplementary materials to enhance core syllabuses or specialized language courses.

  • Student Reporting: Maintain detailed assessments and reports on student performance to ensure data-driven learning outcomes.

  • Academic Support: Assist with the administration of public examinations and participate in professional development workshops and staff meetings.

  • Campus Integration: Play an active role in the broader life of the university community and support senior staff in program initiatives.


Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.

  • Certification: CELTA or equivalent TEFL qualification (minimum 120 hours face-to-face and 6 hours observed teaching).

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of EFL teaching experience, with a strong preference for those who have worked in Middle Eastern countries.

Desirable:

  • Advanced Qualifications: DELTA or a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics or TESOL.

  • Testing Expertise: Specific experience with IELTS preparation.

  • Environment: Previous experience teaching in a University or College setting.

  • Cultural Knowledge: A deep understanding of Middle Eastern culture and educational dynamics.
