Job Description: Full-Time Faculty – Media and Mass Communication (CMMC)
The College of Media and Mass Communication (CMMC) at the American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking distinguished scholars and practitioners for a full-time faculty position. We are looking for Ph.D. holders who embody our motto, “Nothing is Impossible,” to join our diverse academic community in Dubai International Academic City for the 2025-2026 academic year.
As a faculty member, you will bridge the gap between communication theory and professional practice, preparing the next generation of media leaders. You will contribute to a curriculum accredited by both the UAE Ministry of Education (CAA) and SACSCOC, ensuring that our students receive a world-class education that is both intellectually rigorous and professionally relevant.
Key Areas of Instruction
Successful candidates will deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following specializations:

International Communication: Exploring global media flows and cross-cultural discourse.

Public Relations: Strategic planning, crisis management, and image building.

Editing for Mass Media: Technical and stylistic precision in journalistic and digital content.

Mass Communication Theory: Critical analysis of media effects, sociology, and ethics.

Principal Responsibilities

Instructional Excellence: Deliver 12 credit hours per semester using research-driven pedagogy and digital technology to stimulate student inquiry.

Research & Scholarship: Maintain an active research agenda with a focus on publishing in Scopus-indexed journals, contributing to the university’s mission of scholarly innovation.

Curriculum Development: Participate in the continuous review of the curriculum to ensure theories and practices remain current with the rapidly evolving media landscape.

Academic Advising: Guide students through curriculum planning, research projects, and career development within the media industry.

Institutional Service: Contribute to university committees, accreditation processes (SACSCOC/CAA), and community outreach programs.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:

Ph.D. in Public Relations, Mass Communications, or a related field from an accredited US university or an institution recognized by an American accreditation body.

A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours specifically in the field of instruction.
Experience & Research:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at an internationally accredited university.

A strong research record: At least 2 Scopus-indexed publications and a total of 3 publications within the last 5 years.

Proven excellence in teaching at both the baccalaureate and graduate levels.
Skills:

Bilingualism is mandatory: Full professional proficiency in both English and Arabic.

Confident integration of web-based and digital technologies in classroom delivery.

Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty on research and institutional projects.
