Job Description: Assistant Merchandiser (Online) – American Eagle

Are you ready to help customers “Live Their Life” through a seamless digital shopping experience? Alshaya Group is seeking a high-energy Assistant Online Merchandiser to join the American Eagle Outfitters e-commerce team at our Dubai Head Office.

In this role, you are the architect of the digital storefront. You will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle across web and mobile apps for multiple markets, ensuring that the right products are live, correctly priced, and positioned to maximize sales. From coordinating high-heat promotional launches to analyzing weekly trading performance, you will be at the heart of American Eagle’s digital growth in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• E-commerce Merchandising: Oversee the day-to-day management of the website and app. You will manage category navigation menus and product sequencing to ensure a smooth, commercially-driven customer journey.

   

• Product Lifecycle Management: Ensure all new arrivals are live daily with accurate categorization, high-quality imagery, and localized pricing for different markets.

• Trading & Promotions: Execute the e-com marketing calendar. You will create and test promotional rules, upload price lists, and manage marketing coupon codes to ensure all discounts reflect correctly at checkout.

• Performance Analytics: Create and maintain detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports. You will dive into the data to identify issues, analyze trends, and take immediate action to boost trading performance.

• Site Optimization: Regularly “sweep” the site and app to ensure all links (including app deep links) are functional and that landing pages align with current marketing campaigns.

• Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and report technical errors to the IT team, raising and following up on tickets to ensure a bug-free shopping environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in e-commerce merchandising or digital retail is highly preferred.

• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable commercial strategies.

• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel knowledge is mandatory for managing complex price lists and data reporting.

• Detail Oriented: A “perfectionist” mindset when it comes to product content, pricing accuracy, and link testing.

• Collaborative Spirit: Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to manage requirements from various stakeholders (Brand, IT, and Marketing) in both physical and virtual environments.

• Industry Passion: A solid understanding of fashion categories and the retail landscape in the MENA region.
