In this role, you will be a key contributor to FAIR (Fundamental AI Research) or our applied AI teams, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in human-machine interaction. You won’t just be optimizing ad algorithms; you will be architecting the next generation of Llama, advancing the multimodal capabilities of Meta AI, and pioneering the spatial intelligence required for the future of the Metaverse. Your Technical & Scientific Mission

Foundational Research & Design

• Algorithm Innovation: Design and develop novel AI architectures in areas like Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, or Reinforcement Learning.

• Model Evaluation: Develop rigorous benchmarking frameworks to evaluate model safety, efficiency, and reasoning capabilities, ensuring they meet Meta’s high standards for production.

• Multimodal Systems: Conduct research into “Vision-Language-Action” models that allow AI to understand and interact with the physical and digital worlds simultaneously.

Scaling & Production Integration

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software and hardware engineers to ensure that complex research models are optimized for Meta’s global infrastructure.

• Production-Ready Code: Implement your research in high-performance Python or C++, ensuring seamless integration into our existing product ecosystem.

• Distributed Training: Leverage Meta’s massive GPU clusters to train foundational models using state-of-the-art distributed computing techniques.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Technical Guidance: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Dubai hub, providing guidance on complex architectural trade-offs.

• Mentorship: Foster the growth of junior researchers and engineers, cultivating a culture of scientific rigor and open-source contribution.

What You Bring to Meta

• Educational Pedigree: Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

• Programming Mastery: Expert-level skills in Python (primary) and C++ or Java for performance-critical systems.

• Deep Learning Expertise: Strong experience with frameworks like PyTorch (which was born at Meta) and JAX.

• Research Track Record: A history of high-level R&D, ideally evidenced by publications in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, etc.).

• Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with managing large-scale workloads on cloud-based platforms and an understanding of low-level hardware optimization.
