In this pivotal role, you will serve as the technical authority on environmental sustainability, ensuring that complex industrial operations align with the stringent regulatory landscape of the UAE. You won’t just be monitoring compliance; you will be architecting the standards, leading ISO-certified management systems, and guiding massive projects from their initial environmental baseline studies to full-scale execution. We are looking for a visionary leader who can balance industrial productivity with world-class environmental stewardship.

Core Responsibilities

• Technical Authority & Governance: Serve as the primary technical reference for environmental issues, ensuring all chemical usage and operational workflows adhere to the company’s Code of Practice and national laws.

• EMS Leadership: Design, implement, and continuously refine the Environmental Management System (EMS) in strict accordance with ISO 14001 standards.

• Impact Assessment & Strategy: Direct and supervise Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Baseline Studies (EBS) for new facilities and ongoing projects.

• Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor critical environmental KPIs, focusing on emissions reduction, waste management, and effluent discharge to ensure sustainable performance.

• Audit & Compliance: Lead comprehensive environmental audits and develop training programs to cultivate a culture of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) excellence across all business units.

• Strategic Advisory: Provide high-level counsel to executive management and project teams during all phases, from conceptual design to project close-out.

Requirements

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering is required. A Master’s degree is highly preferred.

• Professional Experience: At least 10+ years of specialized experience in environmental management, specifically within the Oil & Gas or heavy industry sectors.

• Regulatory Mastery: Deep, working knowledge of UAE environmental laws, international standards, and industry-specific Codes of Practice.

• Certifications: Preference will be given to candidates holding an ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.

• Communication: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex environmental data into actionable executive reports.
