Job Description: Business Development Manager – International Student Recruitment

Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager will lead international student recruitment efforts, managing B2B channels, agency relationships, and marketing events across the assigned region. This role involves collaborating with company directors to develop strategies that promote recruitment for GUS’s global institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage student recruitment activities, business development, account management, and marketing events for B2B channels.
- Develop and maintain relationships with education agents and key stakeholders.
- Source and train new education agents on brand promotion and recruitment strategies.
- Generate new revenue streams and identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Conduct client research and engage with industry key players.
- Deliver workshops, presentations, conferences, and media appearances confidently.
- Collaborate with directors to implement marketing and sales strategies.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in international student recruitment for higher education.
- Established agency network and strong relationships with recruitment partners.
- Deep understanding of industry trends to inform strategic planning.
- Track record in training agents and developing business partnerships.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Highly motivated with a goal-oriented approach.
Desirable:
- Experience with Salesforce or similar database management tools.
- Experience representing an institution directly or managing a sub-network of agents.
Location & Travel:
- Home-based role with travel mainly within Sri Lanka (travel costs covered).
- Candidate preferably based in Sri Lanka with ease of travel in the region.
Reporting:
- Reports directly to the Director.
- Represents the university/college brand in the region.
Compensation:
- Competitive salary with bonus and incentives based on qualifications and experience.
