Job Description
Imperium Commodity Search is seeking a Quality Manager for a global bunker fuel trading and supply company. This role focuses on overseeing and enhancing quality management processes across the marine fuel supply chain. The successful candidate will provide technical support, manage testing protocols, address customer claims, and advise on blending and alternative fuels such as biofuel and methanol.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance quality assurance practices for bunker fuels across the supply chain
- Offer technical advice on blending, commingling, and fuel compatibility
- Support commercial teams by investigating and resolving quality-related customer claims
- Coordinate with testing laboratories and develop third-party relationships
- Manage all physical operation testing and report findings to relevant internal departments
- Advise teams on emerging fuels, including biofuels and methanol
- Provide technical expertise during client meetings and presentations
- Implement preventive strategies in response to potential quality specification issues
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in marine fuel quality analysis (preferably in a laboratory setting)
- Background in marine engineering aboard ocean-going vessels
- In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and bunker fuel regulations
- Ability to travel within Southeast Asia as needed
- Strong communication skills in English; Mandarin and Cantonese are a plus
