Pearson’s Country Care HR team focuses on operational excellence and local compliance. The Country Care HR Consultant/Specialist will serve as the HR subject matter expert for Sri Lanka, partnering closely with HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, Payroll, IT Solutions, and Finance to ensure smooth HR operations and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement HR strategies aligned with business division guidelines
- Manage HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, employee lifecycle, leave & absence management, and compliance
- Ensure adherence to local regulations (e.g., ABH Forms, EPF/ETF) and collaborate with relevant departments
- Administer employee benefits with benefit partners and oversee related activities
- Partner with Legal teams on legislative updates and employee relations
- Drive process improvements through innovation and digitization
- Manage escalations and vendor performance with service agreements (SOW, SLA)
- Support HR Business Partners and local management on HR legislation and policies
- Advise on legal entity governance and health & safety employee requirements
- Foster positive relationships within the Sri Lanka HR community and share best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 6–7 years of relevant work experience
- Fluent in English and a local Sri Lankan language
- Experience with HR systems and MS Excel
- Strong background in Employee Relations, Benefits, and Compliance
- Skilled at simplifying complex problems and executing corporate strategies locally
- Adaptable to change and innovation
