Job Overview
We are looking for a NOC Analyst (Level 1) to join our growing team in Colombo. This role involves monitoring IT infrastructure, responding to system alerts, troubleshooting basic issues, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of our network operations.
Key Responsibilities
NOC Monitoring & Support
- Monitor IT systems and infrastructure using tools like Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix
- Respond to alerts on servers, networks, and applications
- Escalate unresolved issues as per defined procedures
- Perform system health checks and assist with routine maintenance
Incident Management
- Log and prioritize incidents via ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Freshservice)
- Provide Level 1 support and first-line resolution
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to close incidents within SLAs
- Participate in post-incident reviews and root cause analysis
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate incident and task documentation
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders during major incidents
- Generate regular reports on system performance and security alerts
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Networking, or related fields
- Or equivalent hands-on experience
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Oracle)
- Experience with monitoring and ticketing systems
Experience
- 0–1 year in NOC, IT helpdesk, or technical support role
- Experience in incident handling and troubleshooting preferred
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Detail-oriented and able to follow structured processes
- Adaptable to fast-paced, 24/7 environments
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work rotating 24/7 shifts, including nights and weekends
- Certifications like CCNA, MCSA are an added advantage
