Job Description: Credit Control Assistant

Role Overview:
The Credit Control Assistant is responsible for managing outstanding invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining clear communication with clients to resolve payment issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up with customers via phone or email to recover outstanding payments and address discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update customer databases and call sheets to track payment status and communications.
  • Process credit note requests accurately and promptly.
  • Raise invoices and receipts in compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, ensure timely payments, and escalate overdue accounts as needed.
  • Assist in credit assessments to determine appropriate credit limits for customers.
  • Support special projects and tasks assigned by the line manager.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance industry knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or related finance roles preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional customer engagement approach.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and credit control processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and proactive in resolving client issues.
  • Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information.
